Everyone should be physically active and pursue athletics in a manner that enriches their lives, provides a sense of well being and improves health. Whether you play soccer, football, baseball, etc, you should feel good about your performance and participation in the sport should make you feel healthier.
But, don’t get it twisted. Everyone isn’t cut from the same cloth. Everyone isn’t a warrior (at least not in the physical sense). The bottom line is that some of us are faster, stronger, quicker or more coordinated than other people and nothing is going to change that. People love to talk about how hard work beats talent. The reality is that hard work only beats talent when talent does not work hard (and that’s only sometimes).
If you want your child to be a superior athlete you need to develop the talents that set him apart from the crowd. Not everyone has the ability to be fast or strong. Most kids can shoot a basketball or throw a football. However, only a handful will grow up to bench 225 for 30 reps or run a 40 in under 4.6. These are the hard realities that we face as parents must face.
As a result, it is important that your young athlete gets the best strength and speed development programs available. The reason why is that, just as every parent tries to give his kid the best chance at succeeding in school, you have to give your kid the best chance at succeeding at his chosen sport. Those kids who aren’t prepared get left behind and thats the hard truth.
